If you have an apple body shape or have gained a few pounds in the last few months, this article will provide you with a plethora of tips and tactics to make getting dressed much easier.
Recently, I’ve been getting a lot of queries about plus size fashion and how to dress for different body types.
The subject of how to dress for an apple body shape keeps coming up.
In this post, I’m concentrating on that.
At the end of the day, clothing for a specific body type is all about illusion dressing, as I call it. It’s pulling attention away from the portions of your body on which you’d prefer less focus and toward the parts of your body that you adore.
Because we often put too much emphasis on the regions of our bodies that we don’t like, it’s easy to lose sight of those parts of your body that you adore.
This article is about ensuring that we are satisfied with our appearance. And having an apple body type is quite normal and fairly common.
Let’s talk about illusion dressing for a minute so you can get some basic tips and tactics to make you feel as beautiful as possible in your clothes.
Take Focus Away From Your Middle
My first simple tip is to shift the focus away from your midsection.
If you have a classic apple body shape or have gained a little weight around your midsection, you may want to divert attention away from that area.
It provides you with a variety of possibilities.
Apple body types, in general, have beautiful legs. You want to show off your legs as well as a little skin around your neck and upper chest. You may also flaunt your arms.
It’s all about selecting goods that will help you maximize those crucial areas.
V-necks and scoop necks are the most flattering styles for you. You want to reveal a little flesh up top since wearing high necks, especially if you have a traditional apple body shape, often results in a bigger bust, making you look top-heavy.
What you want to do is clear some space at the top.
You’re not wearing anything that makes your bust look like a shelf, and suddenly everything falls off the shelf.
As a result, v-necks and scoop necks are ideal for you. Button-down shirts are also suitable for you; however, pockets on the front should be avoided.
Anywhere there is a small detail, the eye will be drawn to it.
If you have a larger breast and don’t want to bring attention to it, choose a shirt that doesn’t have any pockets.
Any top, shirt, or blouse with sleeve detailing is also quite beneficial to your look.
Because that is part of the illusion dressing, your eye will naturally be pulled to the lovely detail, drawing attention away from your center.
My next suggestion, and this is a crucial one, is to create a waist.
In general, if you have an apple-shaped body, you don’t have a natural waist that curves inwards somewhat.
What you want to do is construct your own waist, which is usually considerably higher since your body actually does go in a little bit just under your bust.
And that becomes an excellent location for an apple’s waist.
That brings me to my next suggestion: high-waisted pants.
I understand that this may seem counter-intuitive at first, and it may be tough to adjust to.
However, anything with a high waistband will really redefine your waistline. It will give you the appearance of waistline definition.
However, it will provide the appearance of lengthening your legs and making your lower half appear overall longer and thinner, which is exactly what we want.
Long line kimono type vests, or what I like to call waterfall style vests, are an all-time must-have.
They’re loose-fitting garments that can be worn over a more fitted foundation piece.
You could wear a slightly fitting shirt with high-waisted pants, and then add a vest or kimono-style garment over the top to add that extra layer.
However, because the front detailing is so vital, you don’t want a sharp and defined classic blazer style.
What you really want is a waterfall-style jacket or vest, which softens the area and confuses the eye.
And that is the crux of the matter.
Peplums, in a similar spirit to my earlier ideas for developing and redefining your waistline, are also ideal for you.
They do it because it comes naturally to them.
High-waisted clothing gives the appearance of a waist and then flows out from there. It will make you appear incredible.
Because it effectively produces a waistline without making you feel constrained by a belt. It’s merely casual and relaxed, but it draws you in. Create the illusion of a waistline.
That, in my opinion, is the most attractive style for an apple body shape or if you’ve recently gained a few pounds and are simply carrying a little more weight around your midsection.
Highlight Your Assets
I mentioned this before, and it just takes things a step further, because I mentioned that you should focus on other portions of your body instead of your midsection.
Taking it a step further, though, is all about ensuring that you not only draw attention away from your belly, but that you also accentuate your advantages.
You probably have fantastic legs, so make sure you show them off. Alternatively, if you have a wonderful bust and chest area, flaunt it.
Enjoy the portions of your body that make you feel good and those you enjoy.
This one may seem self-evident, but regardless of our body types, a nice bra is a must-have.
Great underwear is a must-have for everyone, and undergarments are the perfect foundation for every ensemble.
Especially if you have a larger chest and if you have an apple body type or are a plus size woman.
You’ll want to invest in a nice bra that will provide you with the necessary support and help you get that perfect form for any outfit.
Skinny leg pants are the greatest style for you when it comes to pants. I’m not talking about incredibly skinny, and I’m not talking about super tight, but these are clearly fitting skinny pants.
Take it a step further by wearing cropped pants, which will bring attention to your ankle, which is often the smallest and skinniest region of your leg.
That’s exactly what you’d like to do.
The main point of illusion dressing is to make sure you’re in charge and drawing people’s attention to specific portions of your body.
If you’re an apple, focusing attention on your ankles will always be a good idea.
Empire Line Dress
If you’re an apple, an empire line is the greatest dress shape for you. Essentially, an empire line dress is a lovely flowing garment that comes in just below the breast.
It’ll pull you in right below your bust, where you’re the slimmest, and then softly fall away from there.
If you have an apple body shape, that will always be the most flattering style of clothing.
So, if you’ve never worn an empire dress before, this might be a good moment to do so.
I believe you’ll be pleasantly pleased by how attractive you appear.
