What Footwear to Wear With Leather Jacket?

What Footwear to Wear With Leather Jacket?

The other day, I got a fantastic question. This is how it goes:

“I followed your suggestion and bought a lovely black leather jacket.  What kind of shoes should I get to go with my jacket? Should I invest in a pair of black sneakers? Should I invest in a pair of black dress shoes? “Should I invest in a pair of black boots?”

Personally, I’m not sure I’d choose any of them. What exactly am I referring to?

This post will tell you all you need to know.

Let’s start by dealing with the elephant in the room.

There’s no rule in fashion that says you have to match your leather jacket and shoes.

However, I believe there are three rules you may follow to make that combination appear fantastic.

Shoes and Jackets Should Be Complementary

This is the first guideline.

Your shoes and clothing should be a good match. They don’t have to be identical. When two things are complementary, they naturally enhance one another.

Here’s an example of a mismatched outfit: dark brown suede boots and a light brown jacket with a softer leather material.

Is this something you can do? Yes, I believe so. They’re both browns, and they’re related. There isn’t much conflict between the styles, which I’ll discuss in a moment.

They simply work. This is a great combo, in my opinion.

Keeping with the suede concept, olive green is another option. And, in my opinion, it is even better now. These boots will be dominated by that small amount of contrast. It’s a distinctive hue, and when paired with the light brown leather jacket, I think it’ll make a great outfit.

What do you think of this next pairing? The light brown jacket paired with the brown leather sneakers. It’s fine combo  in my opinion; it’s robust and does the job. There won’t be anything that truly stands out.

Classic white sneakers, on the other hand, will take center stage. Classic white is a wardrobe staple for many young men, and I think it would look excellent with a leather jacket.

Having stated that, what was my problem with wearing black shoes with a black jacket?

Actually, there’s nothing!

My concern is with his going out and purchasing shoes to match his black jacket.

I’d suggest taking a peek in your wardrobe to see what you already have. When looking through your wardrobe, I recommend looking for gray.

If you have gray shoes, the beauty of these is that they are colorless. It will go with every hue, including black, and will make a fantastic combo.

I think pairing a dark brown with black is a great mix. Many people dislike mixing brown with black, but when it comes to dark brown, particularly with darker overtones, it looks stunning.

Dark brown boots are going to be timeless, elegant, and understated. This would be an excellent pairing.

Oxblood is another option. Black and deep maroon colors go together beautifully. Look at the sole for a quick shortcut. If the sole is black, a black jacket will match well with it.

Saying those words, if you want to go out and get a pair of black boots, such as a pair of Chelsea boots, and combine black with black, that is also a beautiful combo.

Except for these black shoes, which are called the Balmoral Cap Toe Oxford.

Allow me to explain.

Pay Attention to The Style

This takes us to the next point, pay attention to the style.

A closed-lacing Balmoral Cap Toe Oxford shoe is a traditional dress shoe. This is a dress shoe that should be paired with a suit rather than something more casual like a black leather jacket.

This second dress shoe type, on the other hand, is a lot more laid-back. I’m talking about a pair of classic bluchers. It has a lacing system that is open. That’s when the back part of the shoe, the quarter, is placed on top of the vamp. This is designed to be worn in more casual settings with a pair of jeans and a leather jacket, or even with a pair of strange pants and a sports jacket.

Consider the following combination. A blue suede moto jacket is paired with a pair of black slacks.

In this dark brown smooth leather, a pair of classic blucher shoes. This sounds like a good combo to me.

Brown leather sneakers, on the other hand, are a better match. Do you recall these from earlier? That other jacket didn’t sit well with them.

Because of the texture and the color variance, I believe the blue suede moto jacket will stand out. This is a winning combo.

Why not try a pair of gray suede Chelsea boots? Even if the colors aren’t the same, I think there’s a little too much suede here. Suede with suede isn’t something I’d put together.

Have One Piece That Stands Out

I’ve hinted at this point throughout the article, but I want to be quite clear about it now.

Have a focal point, a piece that will draw attention and receive compliments.

Consider this outfit: a pair of lovely brown Chelsea boots with a double monk strap and a Merlot-colored leather jacket.

Would I put them on at the same time? Probably not; it’s excessive.

I get praises on these boots every time I wear them. Women notice, other guys notice, and others inquire about my footwear.

And here’s the thing: there’s a catch. When I wear them with my Merlot leather jacket, I always receive compliments on the jacket.

Why?

It’s just a little bit brighter now. It’s a little different. This is a combination you could pull off. It looks excellent, however I believe it is squandering some of your most well-liked things.

Don’t mix and match your signature pieces if you have a couple of them. They’re competing against each other rather than complimenting and uplifting one another.
