What color jeans to wear? What color jeans are in style for men?

I’m going to talk about four denim colors you should have.

Let’s get started.

Why four, before we get started?

There are a million alternatives because there are so many different ones. There are even purple ones.

The reason for four is because they are the four jeans that will work for that particular time of year or occasion.

I’ve reduced it down to these four options. With so many additional colors to choose from, there’s a lot that can go wrong. But these are the four that will work with any body type.

Here are four color jeans that are in style for men.

Dark/Indigo Wash Jeans

The first is dark wash, sometimes known as indigo. Dark blue is an absolute must. If you can afford it, you’ll need multiples of those.

Why?

Because dark wash jeans can be dressed up or down and look great on everyone, regardless of age or body type. Yes, no matter how old you are.

Most men can wear whatever they want on their upper half, whether it’s a t-shirt, a formal shirt, or a polo shirt. Well-fitting jeans with a dark wash, on the other hand, can instantly change an ensemble.

I’ve written a couple articles about how your jeans, particularly dark wash jeans, should fit. Almost all of the jeans I’m about to mention have been discussed and are the subject of articles. They can be found on this website.

So have a look at them and then let’s move on to the next one. What about a denim with a light wash?

Light Wash Jeans

Light-wash denim is a touchy subject. It’s only appropriate to wear them in the spring and summer, but they’re a terrific way to add some lightness to your ensemble.

Light wash jeans are one of those products that feels incredibly light and airy and seasonally suitable when it’s hot outdoors, whether you’re wearing them with a t-shirt or an Oxford dress shirt.

The hotter it gets, the lighter the colors. The colder it gets, the darker the colors. That is, in a sense, the general rule.

Is it possible for men of all ages to use a light wash? Is it suitable for everyone?

Men of all ages, in my opinion, can wear them. Dark wash jeans will always be my favorite number one pair of jeans. Light wash jeans, on the other hand, can be worn by everyone. Light wash jeans are suitable for all body types.

All you have to do now is make sure it fits your body type. I’ve dedicated an entire fit guide to how your jeans should fit based on your body type.

Gray Jeans

Now we’ll move on to the third option: gray jeans.

These are fantastic. I have a pair of these and wear them about half of the time. The rest of the time, I used dark wash and then mixed in the other colors just a smidgeon.

Gray jeans are a pretty fresh and unusual way to mix things up, because we all wear jeans every day, and sometimes you just want a different color, but you also want something neutral that will match with the rest of your clothes.

Gray jeans can be worn not only during the day, but also at night. They’re equally as acceptable and dressy for a night out with your buddies.

Gray jeans are amazing in my opinion. I like it when it’s a darker gray versus a lighter gray. Lighter gray feels like it belongs in the 1990s, and they’re closer to white jeans.

Black Jeans

Black jeans are the last pair of jeans that every man should own.

These are a must-have. If I had to choose only two jeans of jeans, I’d go with the dark wash and a black pair.

You have the option of dressing them up or down. When you go out to an event, they look fantastic. When you’re just hanging out with your buddies, you can wear them with a sport coat or a leather bomber jacket.

They appear to be quite tidy and well-kept. So invest in a pair of black jeans. They look great on everyone, regardless of age or body type.

Because I’m such a snob when it comes to jeans, I’m going to make a list of all of my favorites. Those are the ones to look into because things can quickly go wrong.

How Should Your Jeans Fit?

First, let’s look at the waist and the seat.

I hate to emphasize the obvious, but the waistband of your jeans should fit around your waist. They shouldn’t need to wear a belt to keep themselves upright. A belt isn’t supposed to do that.

I saw a lot of men with sagging jeans on the street. Jeans do, in fact, sit lower than a suit pant. Having stated that, your jeans should sit in the mid to upper hip bone area. That is how your jeans should be worn.

When it comes to the butt section of your jeans, make sure that the jeans barely embrace your butt.

You don’t want it to be too tight, causing your jeans to split when you bend or sit down, but you also don’t want it to be too big, giving the impression that you’re carrying a heavy load in the back.

If this occurs, either pull up your jeans higher or do some squats to strengthen your buttocks. Alternately, do both.

Moving down to your thighs, your jeans should fit easily around your thighs without hindering your movement when bending down or walking.

On either side of your thighs, you should be able to pinch no less than half an inch of fabric, but no more than one inch. Anything less or more than that, and you should choose a new jean style.

Finally, what length should your jeans be? Always use a small or full break as a default. Anything shorter is considered high waters, and it has a very distinct look. Any longer, however, and you’ll have that stacking, which will cut your legs up and make you appear shorter.

A small or complete break always appears polished and crisp.
