Men's Casual Summer Outfit Ideas For Sexy Looks

Those bulky overcoats, lace-up leather boots, and out-of-season beanie hats should have been banished to the back of your closet by now to make place for your summer staples.

You understand what I’m referring to.

Crew neck tees, classic chinos, very stylish espadrilles, and summer seasonal hues that would make the Blues Brothers blush come to mind.

However, there’s a narrow line between being extremely well dressed and being plain cheesy when it comes to putting together a smart summer outfit.

You can’t hide your outfit beneath a big jacket like you can in the winter.

Fortunately, I’ve put together four outfit combinations that will keep you looking great for the next few months.

These will show you how to not only master the fundamentals, but also how to mix and match pieces you might not think of to create a summer look that will set you apart from the crowd.

Outfit 1

To begin, we have a look that is one of my personal outfits for guys in the summer.

A short-sleeve button-up shirt is paired with traditional neutral chinos and a pair of minimalist sneakers or slip-on shoes.

The short sleeve button-up shirt is clearly the focal point of this outfit. When you wear it instead of your t-shirt, it instantly elevates your outfit.

This is one of those summer-exclusive outfits that I enjoy dressing my clients in.

The surprising versatility of short sleeve button ups is one of their best features.

They instantly give every outfit a cool layer of sharpness.

They also have a specific aesthetic that is meant to look every man, regardless of age or body shape.

You have the option of using a solid color or a playful print. It is entirely your choice.

I prefer to wear short-sleeve button-up shirts with chinos because this style of pant complements this summer-worthy shirt perfectly.

Make a front tuck with the shirt, add a belt, and you’re done. A summer outfit that is both relaxed and cool.

If you want to stand out on those summery beachy days, swap out the chinos for a pair of shorts or even swim trunks.

If you’re wearing a patterned shirt, you’ll want to keep the shoes simple and clean, like a low top leather sneaker or a van style slip-on, because the last thing you want to do is draw attention away from your stylish upper half.

One final point.

Shirts like this don’t have to be buttoned all the way up.

You can also layer them over a plain t-shirt or a tank top, which is pretty much the only time you should wear a tank top.

Outfit 2

Let’s move on to the following item on my list of women’s favorite summer outfits.

I’ve received a lot of questions from you about how to layer your outfits throughout the summer months.

Excellent question.

For a variety of reasons, I adore layered summer outfits.

Layering your clothes, first and foremost, is a talent that shows you’ve mastered the art of dressing properly.

Second, a well-styled layered outfit has the ability to visibly break up the body. This is especially effective for guys who are either extremely slender or who are carrying to hide some additional weight.

Finally, if you sweat through your clothes in the summer, layering can offer you with some extra protection.

Here are some outfits that show how to layer your clothes during the summer months, and this is an easy aesthetic to attain by following these four steps.

To begin, pair a solid-colored tank top or crew neck t-shirt with some neutral chinos or shorts.

I prefer white for the t-shirt, but you could also go with navy, heather gray, or a pasteli summer color.

On top of that, layer a button-up shirt with either short or long sleeves.

If you like long sleeves, a linen shirt or a classic cotton Oxford button down is a great option for a more summer-appropriate outfit.

Next, unbuttone the outer layer if you want to go for the ultimate laid-back summer look.

Buttons up the shirt, but not the first one or two, if you want to look a little more put-together.

Then, with both your undershirt and outer shirt tucked into your shorts or chinos, do a front tuck.

Finally, finish with a belt and a pair of summer sneakers.

Now you have an artfully layered summer outfit that is flawlessly designed.

Outfit 3

Our third look is a simple summer update on a traditional and casual men’s outfit. Wearing a crew neck tee with jeans and sneakers.

To begin, we’ll swap the solid-color tee with a navy and white striped variant.

Simple striped t-shirts are fantastic since they not only exist in a variety of colors, but the stripes, whether horizontal or vertical, provide a distinct aesthetic and nautical vibe to your overall look.

They can also hide any weight you may be carrying in your upper body if you are on the heavier side.

For the lower half, you may pretty much wear whichever chinos you want, but hues like navy, khaki, green, or light blue are always a good choice.

Finally, top it off with a pair of sneakers, espadrilles, or loafers, and you’ve got yourself a quick summer look.

This is a look that both guys and women adore. It’s casual, stylish, and simple in the manner that all summer outfits for men should be.

Outfit 4

One of my favorite aspects about summer fashion is that the entire aesthetic is meant to evoke the fun that the season is known for.

We’re talking bright colors, interesting fiber patterns, and putting your comfort first. This following look, I believe, wonderfully reflects all of those essential summer characteristics.

This outfit comprises of swim trunks, a linen long sleeve or a colorful crew neck t-shirt, and a pair of sandals or espadrilles, and is ideal for enjoyable social events such as beach days and pool parties.

When I see a look like this, I immediately think of it as the ideal outfit for a day at the beach followed by lunch or a beer at a local restaurant.

Swim trunks, like sandals, are an item that should only be worn near a body of water, such as a pool, the ocean, or on a boat. And never, ever, ever again.

Solid-colored swim trunks, such as navy gray or light green, are my favorites because they are easy to pair with whatever you wish to wear on your upper half.

However, I must admit that I enjoy the occasional design, such as nautical stripes or a floral motif.

If you choose a patterned swim trunk, you should pair it with a solid color shirt, such as a pastel colored crewneck t-shirt, to produce a stylish and pattern-free look.

Swap the tee with a lightweight and breathable linen long sleeve shirt and roll up the sleeves for a more refined but equally comfortable look. It’s easy, it’s relaxing, and it’s summer.
