In this article, I’ll discuss some simple style adjustments that you may make to elevate your style and impress all of your friends.
This is not the article for you if you just like classic styles.
This article is for those of you who enjoy experimenting, trying new things, pushing the envelope a little bit, and taking your style to the next level.
It’s like a 2.0 version of style advice.
Wrap the Straps Around Your Ankles
The first style advice is to wrap the ankle straps of your sandals around the bottom of your pants.
I understand if this sounds weird. This is a really stylish and fashionable thing to do right now.
Will this still be the case five years from now? Most likely not.
But, right now, if you want to step up your style game, there is one simple tweak you can make that will show you know what you’re doing, you’re on top of your game, you’re not afraid to take risks, and you’ll definitely impress your fashionable friends.
You might pair it with a more traditional straight leg or wide leg trouser. You can just fiddle around with it to see what works best for you. It’s possible to accomplish it in a jogger pant or something a little more tapered.
Simply look through your closet to see what you have and experiment with this trend. It’s a micro trend, but if we’re talking about the tiny things you can do to really improve your style game, this is absolutely one of them.
It’s not something you’ll notice many people doing. However, fashion is supposed to be fun; don’t take it too seriously. Every now and again, push the envelope and try something new.
Showing Some Skin
The second approach to up your style game is to expose some skin, particularly your midriff.
There are so many ways to show a little bit of midriff that are both accessible and don’t look like you’re exposing everything.
I have a few dresses with strategically placed cuts and slices on the sides. I’ve also paired a bra top with baggier jeans and an oversized blazer. With high-rise jeans, you’re only showing a bit of your midriff. That’s a fantastic approach to go about it.
It’s possible that it’s a cutout in the back. Any type of skin on the torso is really popular right now, and it’s also very contemporary and modern.
This is an excellent method to elevate your style game. However, you must be quite strategic in your positioning.
If you’re wearing a bra top, match it with a pair of high-rise pants or jeans. If you have a short torso, you’re simply showing a modest amount of skin.
If you have a lengthy torso, you’ll need to experiment with more strategic dress cutouts on the side, right below the bust, or in the back.
So, with some cuts or a sliver of midriff, showing a little skin is a simple way to elevate your style game.
Details
The third style advice is all about the details. These seemingly insignificant details can have a huge influence.
I have a blouse with a pretty cool, simple detail on the neckline that makes it a little more intriguing. Beading can also be found on the shoulder and the collar. It’s not like it’s a big deal. It’s a minor element that has a significant impact.
That’s the sort of thing I’m talking about.
Let’s talk about pants because there’s a lot going on in the world of pants and jeans right now, and you may look for these features to help you raise your style game.
The first is a waistband on your jeans or pants that is asymmetrical.
The asymmetrical waistline has the advantage of creating a V in the front, which makes your waist appear smaller and more defined.
Another thing to keep an eye out for is a split hem. I have a couple of pairs of white split hem jeans and a pair of white split hem pants.
However, any split hem pant or jean can instantly elevate your entire outfit, and this is a minor but significant touch.
Those are two eye-catching details to seek for in your pants and jeans.
Oversized Chunky Chains
Next, I’d like to discuss an accessory trend that’s now popular and would undoubtedly elevate your style game: oversized chunky chains.
Necklaces, shoes, backpacks, and chain belts are all on the menu.
One large, bright, outstanding accessory or piece, such as this, may make all the difference in elevating and stepping up your style game.
It may be the current trend, which is hefty chains, but it doesn’t have to be.
The great thing about investing in a piece like this is that, even if it’s popular, you’ll be able to wear and enjoy it for years to come, especially if it’s of higher quality.
Experiment With Proportions
The fifth tip is to experiment with proportions.
We had a lot of volume in the 1980s. And right now, there’s a lot of it.
From structural shoulder pads to puff shoulders, puff sleeves, balloon sleeves, and bubble hems, there’s something for everyone.
With volume proportion, you can virtually build whatever body shape you want.
Because I’m boxy, which means I’m a little sporty in shape, I don’t have a clearly defined waist. I like to experiment with huge bold shoulders, which makes my waist appear smaller.
That’s something you could try.
This is where you may be creative, explore what you already have in your closet, or buy in a piece you truly adore.
I often preach about putting 80% of your money into your basics and 20% towards trends. One thing worth mentioning is that if there’s a major trend, not necessarily a micro trend, but a big trend, it usually lasts a decade or more.
Volume isn’t going away anytime soon, so if you don’t already have something in your closet, this could be a good investment.
The oversized blazers are also a major hit. You can also experiment with proportion in this way. Play around with it, try new things, and change your body shape. You can really change the contour of your body by changing the volume, which is pretty cool and interesting.
It all relies on your level of comfort and willingness to explore new things. However, I enjoy experimenting with volume. It’s a lot of fun, in my opinion.
Belts
Belts are a style element that can make a big influence on your look while also elevating it.
Belts come in a wide variety of styles.
You can use your usual inch and a half or inch and a quarter belt, which is OK; there’s nothing wrong with it.
Belts, on the other hand, are a quick and easy way to elevate your style game.
You can wear an obi belt, a peplum belt, or a utilitarian belt with small pockets dangling off of it.
A chain link belt is an option. The thick chain link belts that are so popular right now.
This is a pretty simple technique to elevate all of your looks when you’re seeking for a small update.
It’s not that risky. It’s a very accessible piece of clothing that you may add into your look.
The great thing about a belt is that you can wear it with a variety of things. It goes with a trench, a sweater, a jacket, and a dress.
Have some fun with it. That is the game’s name, and that is the message I want to send you.
If you’re serious about fashion and want to raise your style game, these are the tiny changes you can make right now to dramatically transform your look and impress everyone.
When you make these simple shifts, which are actually fairly simple, that’s exactly what will happen.
Just remember to have fun and be confident while doing it.
