It is vital to care about what you are wearing, especially when it comes to your choice of pants. Your wardrobe does not need to be lavish in order to look good, but it is important to care about what you are wearing.
Let’s be honest.
Pants are the backbone of almost every outfit.
By changing what you’re wearing on your upper half and on your feet while keeping your pants the same, you can swiftly transform your style from casual to fancy in seconds.
With so many different types of men’s pants on the market, finding the correct pair for your shape and size, as well as figuring out how to wear them, can be a real struggle.
Here are the top four types of jeans that every man should own.
Chinos
To begin, we have chinos, the most versatile of all the pants and a must-have for your wardrobe this year.
These can be dressed up or down to suit most events, such as a business meeting, a friend’s wedding, a mother’s birthday party, or a first date.
These pants strike a good balance between business and casual, and the lighter, softer cotton twill fabric is more breathable and ideal for warmer weather. That is, you will not be sweating much on your first date. That is something that no one wants to see.
One of the nicest things about chinos is that they come in a number of colors, which is perfect for mixing up your look.
But, and I cannot emphasize this enough, do not get black chinos because you will resemble a waiter or even the valet.
Tan, olive, or navy chinos worn with a plain neutral color t-shirt are an easy look to put together on a casual day. Put on a clean pair of sneakers and you’re ready for anything.
This outfit will not only make you look amazing, but it will also make you feel wonderful.
Don’t be afraid to tuck your t-shirt into the front section of your chinos, add a belt, or even roll up your chinos to show a little bit of ankle.
Experiment with the look. When it comes to the chino-tee-sneaker mix, it’s difficult to go wrong.
But how do you go from casual to business in a hurry?
Easy!
To give it a dressier look, replace the casualty with an Oxford button down or formal shirt, and the sneakers with suede driving mocs or leather penny loafers.
Jeans
We have a pair of jeans that you are most likely wearing right now at number two.
It’s a good old-fashioned pair of jeans.
Every man’s wardrobe requires some dark wash jeans, regardless of age, height, shape, or size.
These are great for informal get-togethers and can easily be dressed up with a few easy extras.
Dark wash jeans are my go-to style since they flatter every body shape and disguise both skinnier and larger legs better than any other color.
And, more importantly, well-fitting jeans look fantastic on a man.
Keep it casual by wearing your jeans with a simple t-shirt and a pair of sneakers. If it becomes colder, layer it with a crewneck sweater and a casual jacket like a bomber to keep warm while looking attractive.
But how can we spice up these dark wash jeans a little more?
Replace the sweater with a white dress shirt, a black knitted tie, and a sport coat. Then take off your sneakers and replace them with a pair of Oxford dress shoes, and you’ll be ready to go for the day.
You could also be wondering what type of jeans are best for your body type.
Skin-tight and baggy pants does not fit any body type. Thin fit jeans, on the other hand, look great on both slim and regular body types.
If you have a larger frame, a straight fit jean will allow you more room in your thighs and keep your jeans proportional to your body shape.
Because jeans are likely to be the pants you’ll wear for the rest of your life, it’s critical to invest in the ones that make you look and feel your best.
Joggers
The pants that follow should only be worn for one of two reasons: comfort or to show the world that you’ve decided to give up.
That’s correct, it’s the joggers.
However, I’m joking about the giving up part.
Allow me to pose a question to you.
What are your current joggers like? Are they old, shapeless or faded? Is there a lack of elasticity in them?
If that’s the case, make this year you go from sloppy to stylish with this new addition to your closet.
The idea is to find joggers that provide the same level of comfort as pajamas while also being fashionable enough to allow you to run errands, see friends, or even go on a second date.
Before you point out the absurdity of the name, I honestly feel that joggers can be worn by any male, regardless of body type.
Sweatshirts look great with joggers, but matching your sweatshirt to your joggers in the same color shows ladies that even your casual loungewear is still stylish.
It illustrates that even on your worst, most hungover days, you can seem brilliant.
Throwing on a bomber jacket to break up the jogger and sweater look is an easy way to dress it up. If it’s a warmer day, skip the sweater and opt for a solid-colored t-shirt instead.
Stick to solid hues to keep yourself looking hot while chilling.
One of the best things about joggers is that there are some quite high-end brands available. From cashmere to super-affordable French terry, there’s something for everyone.
In any event, you are aware that your budget does not require you to sacrifice style.
As simple as it may seem to dress in sweatpants, there is one big no-no you should avoid.
If you’re tempted to wear your socks and slides, resist! Instead, go for a pair of slip-on vans. I want you to go for a fashionable, not trashy look.
As comfy as joggers are, they are not appropriate for everyday use, and as tempting as it may be, resist the need to wear them all the time.
Shorts
Next, we’ve got a summer staple that, in my opinion, is a must-have pair of pants.
It’s a high-quality pair of shorts that’s designed to keep you cool, comfy, and airy.
To be clear, I’m not referring to basketball shorts when I say shorts.
Remember how much time and effort you put into getting your jeans to fit perfectly. Your shorts will take the same amount of labor, but it will be well worth it.
Your legs will appreciate it during those long, hot summer days.
Regardless of your body type, the key to wearing attractive shorts is to make sure they end about two inches above the top of your knee.
This is to guarantee that your body proportions remain intact. While you’re trying to discover the perfect length for your shorts, stay away from anything longer or shorter. To accomplish this, do not cuff them.
Also, pinch one to two inches of fabric on either side of your mid thigh. You may rest assured that your shorts will look proportionate to the rest of your body if you do so.
When it comes to style, flat front shorts are the way to go; pleated shorts should be avoided.
Cotton reigns supreme when it comes to fabric. It will keep you cool while also being quite durable.
Stick to solid colors like browns, blues, and grays, which never go out of style and always look sharp, just like joggers and chinos.
You’ll be ready for summer if you pair those shorts with a plain t-shirt or perhaps a printed short sleeve button-up shirt.
