Here’s my list of the 10 men’s clothes that will never go out of style.
Charcoal or Navy Suit
The most essential item of menswear that any guy should have in his closet is a good suit.
I like to recommend either navy or charcoal when it comes to colors because they are the most versatile choices.
After all, suits should be thought as basic elements on top of which you may layer your shirt, shoes, and accessories to design a look that fully reflects your own distinct personality. Whether it’s a more casual or formal tone.
Choose a two-button suit whenever possible, and make sure the lapel is in the “notch style.”
Oxford Button-down Dress Shirt
The second item on my list is the classic men’s shirt, the Oxford button-down dress shirt, because you can’t have a suit without a shirt.
Less is always more when it comes to men’s style, and the Oxford button-down dress shirt has a simple, modern look that makes it really simple to pair with the other items in your closet.
It also looks great on men of any age or body type, and depending on what you pair it with, you can easily dress it up or down.
Wear it beneath a sports coat or with your smart suit for a more formal look. If you want something a little more informal, simply roll up the sleeves and wear it with a pair of sneakers and some chinos or jeans.
In fact, I’d suggest getting one in white and another in light blue since both of these hues complement every skin tone and are really versatile when it comes to pairing.
Polo Shirt
The polo shirt, the Oxford shirt’s less casual little brother, is the next item on the list and always looks great in the spring and summer.
Every guy may utilize a simple polo shirt to dress up his more casual ensembles because it is a style staple that will never go out of style.
Don’t let the preppy appearance deceive you.
A good polo is actually a remarkably versatile item of clothing. If the fit is perfect and you choose the correct material, your outfit will not only highlight the portions of your body that you find more appealing but will also camouflage any flaws you may have.
In a nutshell, choose pima cotton, but if you have extra weight in your upper body, stay with the more camouflage-friendly Pk cotton.
Under casual coats like bombers and Harringtons, polo shirts layer exceptionally well.
There are certainly a few considerations while selecting your polo.
Prior to switching to more bright colors, I’d recommend staying with neutral colors like black, navy, and charcoal. If at all possible, steer clear of anything with a logo, or at the very least, make sure the design isn’t overwhelming or distracting.
Last but not least, make sure you always choose a short-sleeved style. Long-sleeved polos are not appropriate.
Crewneck T-shirt
If polos aren’t your thing, you’ll look good in the next option on my list. It’s the crewneck t-shirt.
There are different types of crewneck t-shirts. Look no farther than the tech t-shirts if you want to update your t-shirt collection.
They are employing a modal fabric that conforms to your body and is incredibly light and breathable. This means that no unpleasant scents, color loss, or ironing is necessary.
Crewneck Sweater
The next item on my list is something that most people would often identify with winter or fall, but it actually works pretty much all year round.
Additionally, it will never go out of style.
It’s the classic crewneck sweater, which is always in style.
Crewneck sweaters can look so stylish on guys of all ages when picked in timeless colors like black, navy, gray, and camel.
But if you’re one of the bigger guys, you should only ever wear your crewneck sweater as a layering piece underneath your casual jackets, sports coats, and suits.

It matches everything, including t-shirts, Oxfords, denim, and chinos. You’re definitely missing out if you don’t own one in a neutral color like navy or black.
You can get them in wool or suede or choose cotton for a stylish yet casual feel if you want a more elevated sharper look.
I simply love the countless options for bomber jackets.
Dark Wash Jeans
What comes next now that you’ve obtained every classic item on my list that will never go out of style?
Pants, but what kind of pants?
Jeans, but what style of jeans?
Jeans with a dark wash, you guessed it.
It cannot be denied. Regardless of a man’s age or body type, a well-fitting pair of dark wash indigo jeans will always look good on him.
Dark wash jeans can be dressed up or down just like many other items on this list.
But let’s speak a little bit about the fit before you run out to the local store and buy 20 pairs.
If you have a slender to average frame, you should always choose dark wash, slim fit, not skinny jeans.
However, if you have a larger frame, a straight cut is unquestionably your best choice.
However, a slim straight fit might be perfect if you do desire a slight taper from your knee to ankle.
Whatever your body type, your jeans should always fit without a belt around your waist. You should downsize to a slimmer cut if you can squeeze more than an inch and a half of denim on either side of your thigh.
Lace-Up Leather Boots
Without some footwear, no list of classic menswear items would be complete.
Low top white sneakers are not included on this list!
Instead, I’m choosing the most robust, masculine, and long-lasting footwear a guy can own, which has to be a pair of lace-up leather boots.
They have a timeless and stylish aesthetic that just looks great on every guy and can be worn from the beginning of fall until the end of spring.
The cost of leather lace-ups is perhaps the one thing that deters many guys from buying them.
However, here’s the thing!
This is actually something that should be viewed as an investment piece, similar to a suit. When it comes to the quality of your boots, you definitely shouldn’t cut corners.
However if you live someplace that’s extremely wet, then you’re going to end up replacing them every year.
I’d recommend choosing a beautiful medium to dark brown shade if this is your first pair. Also, make sure the soles are non-slip.
Watch
As a final touch, here are a couple of accessories that will always elevate a man’s look.

If I had to choose just one piece of men’s accessory that every man should have, I’d recommend that a watch is the most essential piece.

Take a look at a classic Casio if you’re more of a digital type of guy. Perhaps you prefer a classic mechanical watch; Timex or Omega are just a couple of amazing historical brands.
Additionally, it looks particularly beautiful when worn with a rolled-up sleeve and an exposed forearm.
Sunglasses
The final piece of accessory looks great on everyone. It’s a good pair of sunglasses.
Sunglasses are a must since they not only safeguard your vision and the skin around your eyes, but they also enhance your appearance.
