In this article, I’ll give you some ideas on what you should consider when buying a bag that you’ll use every day or most days of the week.
Size
First, we must determine what size we require.
Take a look at your daily routine. How does it appear? What is your daily routine like? So, what exactly are the activities?
Do you require a multipurpose bag that you can use both at work and at home? Or are you one of those people that doesn’t do anything after work? You always return home immediately.
What is your way of life, and how can your handbag complement it?
The bags I’m going to discuss are more on the medium to large size spectrum.
Strap
You should also consider what kind of strap you need, as some of you may be taking the metro to work.
Perhaps you don’t want a handbag with only handles.
Perhaps you require a bag with a shoulder strap to make it easier to carry and to walk long distances with.
High-quality
Another consideration is that it must be a high-quality bag, as this is something you will use on a daily basis.
Personally, I don’t believe it is necessary to carry a designer bag to work, but I’ll get to that point later.
However, I believe it is critical that the bag be of great quality.
Logos and brands aren’t important, but great quality is.
You’ll be carrying this bag almost every day, and it will be subjected to a great deal of wear and tear.
It will keep breaking if it is of low quality, or if it is a very inexpensive bag, and you will have to buy new bags all the time if it is of poor quality.
Then there’s the matter of whether you’re actually saving money by buying inexpensive bags when you might have spent more money on a higher-quality bag that will last you for years.
Avoid Flashy Bag
Another thing to consider is that you will need a more discreet bag, one that is more modest.
My Hermes Kelly bag is a size 35, which means it is on the larger side.
Because it fits a lot of things, it’s great for doing errands during the day and even for heading to work. Although you won’t be able to get a laptop in there, you will be able to accommodate an iPad.
However, this is unquestionably a high-end work bag.
I don’t think it’s appropriate for work. If you work in a typical office or have a regular job, or if you attend a lot of client meetings, it would just look a little bit showy if you came with a bag like this.
This isn’t a subtle work bag since it makes a strong statement. I wouldn’t want to impress anyone at work because it’s easy for others to become envious.
Because your employer may believe “she seems like she’s doing well,” it may be more difficult for you to secure a promotion or a raise.
You should consider the type of message you’re sending before delivering it.
Tote Bag
This is my most frequently used work bag. I use this bag all the time and I still adore it. Not only is it my work bag, but it’s also my travel bag.
Because it’s so comfortable and large in size, I use it for travel all the time.
What is it about tote bags that I find so appealing? Because they can hold a lot of stuff.
My Kelly bag doesn’t have a shoulder strap, but it does have long handles, so I can carry it on my shoulder.
These are some of the factors I want you to consider when buying a bag, because it’s all about finding a bag that will last you a long time, because you’ll be using and abusing it.
As a result, it must be able to withstand the test of time.
The disadvantage of the standard tote bag is that it lacks appropriate internal organization, resulting in one large space. Some, on the other hand, are a little more organized. There are divisions between them.
Color
You should also consider the color.
The majority of us wear dark colors to work, such as black, navy, dark gray, or similar hues.
I believe that having a dark bag in your bag arsenal is quite crucial because it goes with so many professional outfits.
However, we must discuss what will be a secondary color that you absolutely must have in your work bag arsenal.
That is a light-colored bag because I believe you will be wearing lighter colors at some point, especially during the summer or when it is hot.
So you’ll need a work bag that works with lighter colors as well, but you may still wear a black bag with a light-colored suit because the contrast is still attractive.
But there is one thing I want you to have, ladies: alternatives.
So, if you’re going to use a color strategy, I’d recommend going with black first, then a light or neutral color as a secondary.
What to Buy?
Hermes or Chanel are unquestionably high-end bags with a high price tag. Investing so much money in a work bag seems like a waste of money.
Personally, I believe that if you want a designer handbag for everyday use, you should opt for something more mid-range, such as the Alaia.
Tods is another bag that I believe is ideal for work. However, I believe they are a touch pricey considering the type of brand Tods is.
However, you may simply find a pre-owned bag for a fraction of the cost.
What should you do if you can’t afford designer bags?
My best recommendation for you is to go out and find something similar. Look for a tote bag, a leather handbag, or a structured handbag in a similar style.
We don’t want to start getting plastic, so make sure it only looks very high quality. We don’t want to start canvassing right away. We don’t want to start moving in the direction of a beach bag or a straw bag.
We wouldn’t want to just have some crazy design either. There are numerous unsightly bags on the market, as well as many bags that are unfit for work.
You should carry a modest, unobtrusive handbag. A bag like that is readily available in high-end leather shops. They’re only a couple of hundred bucks each.
